Adjusting Your Helmet for a Proper Fit:
When delivered, the helmet is set to its maximum size. Follow these steps to adjust it for an individual fit:
1) Position the Helmet:
Place the helmet on the wearer’s head.
2) Adjust the Head Circumference:
Loosen the two thumbscrews located under the Velcro fastener on the forehead padding.
Move the plastic tabs evenly on both sides until the helmet fits comfortably.
Tighten the thumbscrews to secure the adjustment.
The helmet should sit horizontally, about a finger’s width above the eyebrows, with the ears exposed.
3) Check the Fit:
Try rotating the helmet left and right with both hands.
If the skin on the forehead moves with the helmet, the fit is correct.
If the helmet moves independently, it is too loose—repeat step 2.
4) Adjusting the Straps:
Standard Y-Strap:
Open the strap adjusters on both sides and adjust the straps for a secure fit.
Close the strap adjusters and ensure the chin buckle is centered and snug, leaving a maximum of one finger’s width of space.
Padded Carrying Strap:
Adjust the strap position using the Velcro straps under the padding.
Adjust the chin strap buckle for a snug fit, ensuring no more than one finger’s width of space.
5) Final Fit Check:
Try pulling the helmet forward and backward with both hands.
If the helmet moves enough to block vision or expose the forehead, it does not fit correctly—readjust the straps as needed.
If you experience difficulties adjusting the helmet, please contact your medical supply provider for assistance.
Chin Guard (Optional Accessory):
The chin guard (sold separately) can be clicked into the designated buckles on either side, replacing the chin strap. Adjust it the same way as the padded chin strap (see step 4). The chin guard can be manually shaped for a customised fit.
The inner padding, padded chin straps, and straps are removable and can be washed at 40°C.
The forehead guard cover is also removable and washable at 40°C.
Allow all washed parts to air dry for approximately 48 hours before reassembly.
To clean the outer shell, use a lukewarm solution of mild detergent or soapy water.
Do not clean any parts using BS 5661 hospital laundry methods, as they are not suitable for this process.
